Ascorbic Acid

It is Vitamin C in its purest form. It is a weak water-soluble organic acid. It has a high antioxidant power against free radicals. Provides the skin with brightness and is a great ally for depigmentation treatments. Helps stimulate collagen synthesis. It is photosensitive, so it is oxidised when it contacts oxygen (the product containing it, therefore, becomes yellowish); therefore, more stable vitamin C derivatives are found in the market.
